Our IT & Network Management Techs
Marc Sahr has been in information technology since 1981. His first experiences in IT came on an original IBM PC while working for his parents’ business. He soon moved on to start his own company, Erico Enterprises, selling high-tech electronics to semiconductor industry. Selling and supporting computers was a necessary sideline to this business, and it gradually became the company’s primary focus. Marc changed the company name to Erico Technologies to reflect this new focus and continued as a one-man operation for several years, working with clients from the construction, medical, retail and professional services industries.
During this time Marc also worked for a “retail” computer repair company, Preferred Computer Care in Scottsdale, AZ. Starting out as a bench tech, he quickly became lead tech and branch manager. He later went on to work as a lead tech at Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix before moving on to become the nationwide Network Manager for Automotive Investment Group. When Automotive Investment Group restructured, Marc refocused his energies on Erico Technologies, using the contacts and knowledge he gained from working in automotive IT.
Marc is married with two sons - one a student at the University of Arizona and the other a high school freshman. A huge movie buff, Marc enjoys spending time with his family, working on his Toyota Land Cruiser, and taking the dogs to the park.
Scott Hoffmann (Hoffy) has been in the tech industry since 1996. Starting out when the internet was just becoming popular, he supported dialup customers at a locally owned ISP. From there he branched out into the data infrastructure field, helping start the ISP’s cabling and infrastructure division. After that he went on to work in a data center, as a Network Operations Technician, until he was picked up by a local car dealership to run their IT department. Nine years later, needing a little break, he helped start a mobile video gaming company with a friend, which was wildly successful. When the break was over, Scott moved on to a Data Center Technician position for GoDaddy.com. Knowing Marc for 10+ years made the decision to come to Ericotech a no brainer, and he happily joined us in July 2011.
James Ray is an A+ and Network+ certified desktop analyst working part time. He has worked with computers, networks and wireless devices since 2000. His training began at the University of Texas, studying software standards and data structure. His education continued in the field, working on everything from simple assembly to the administration of enterprise Microsoft networks. He also works with network infrastructure. From basic cabling of networks to joining sites via microwave point to point, his experience is well rounded.
James is also a musician and has a passion for digital audio recording. This passion is supported and enhanced by his wife and daughter, who are his inspiration.
